Kingsford Man Charged for Threatening Bar Staff

A man has been charged after he allegedly threatened staff at a Kingsford sports bar with a firearm this morning.

About 4.45am (Wednesday 4 June 2025), police were called to a bar on Anzac Parade, Kingsford, following reports a man was armed with a firearm.

Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command arrived and were told a man had been outside the bar before allegedly pointing a firearm at staff inside the bar after they refused to let him in.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 37-year-old man nearby and located and seized the firearm – an imitation semi-automatic Glock pistol – in a bin a short distance from the man.

The 37-year-old man was taken to Maroubra Police Station where he was charged with enter building/land with firearm or imitation firearm, possess unauthorised prohibited firearm, and use unauthorised prohibited firearm.

The man was refused bail to appear before Waverley Local Court today.
