Police would like to allay community concerns regarding the assault reported in the Kingston area in the early hours of Sunday morning, Tasmania Police say.
A thorough investigation has been conducted, with a number of witnesses being spoken to, and a comprehensive forensic examination being conducted.
At this stage there is no clear evidence that a crime has been committed. No further details can be provided at this stage.
