Knife Seized At Salisbury Shopping Centre

A man will face court after he was found in possession of a knife at Parabanks Shopping Centre last night.

Around 7.30pm Monday 22 December, Salisbury police stopped a man in the Declared Shopping Precinct while undertaking a proactive patrol of the area.

The 21-year-old man from Elizabeth Vale was subject to a metal detector search which uncovered a knife in his backpack which was immediately seized.

He was removed from the precinct and reported for carrying an offensive weapon. The 21-year-old will be summonsed to court in the new year.

Police wish to reassure the public that we will continue proactively utilising search powers in declared public places to ensure community safety over this festive period.
