Knife Seized, Man Charged Over Pursuit - Willmot

A man will face court over a pursuit after a knife was seized in Sydney's west yesterday.

About 1pm yesterday (Monday 29 December 2025), officers attached to Mount Druitt Police Area Command were called to Reliance Crescent, Willmot, following reports of a man had left a unit block with weapons.

About 1.30pm on the same day, patrolling officers located a red hatchback on Close Place Hebersham, allegedly being driven by the disappeared man.

Checks alleged the vehicle was stolen from a business in Richmond on Thursday 25 December 2025.

When the driver failed to stop a pursuit was initiated however, it was terminated nearby due to safety concerns.

Following further inquiries, with the assistance of PolAir, the vehicle was located in a shopping centre car park on Carlisle Avenue, Mount Druitt, just after 2pm.

The driver – a 21-year-old man – was arrested inside the shopping centre before police seized a knife from him.

He was taken to Mount Druitt Police Station where he was charged with never licensed person drive vehicle on road, police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously (two counts), carry cutting weapon upon apprehension, drive conveyance taken without consent of owner, and possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 6 today (Tuesday 30 December 2025).
