Bruce Dobson, CEO of Knox City Council, has today announced he will be leaving Knox, effective from January 2027.
Mr Dobson has made the decision to move overseas with his family and will spend time living and working in the United Kingdom.
"It's been a great privilege to lead the organisation and to work with our Councillors over the last 5 years, and I'm proud of what's been achieved", he said.
"I'm extremely proud of our people, who work each day to make a positive difference for the Knox community. We've made strong and measurable progress in terms of our community's experience with us, our organisational performance, and our staff engagement and culture."
Mayor Cr Paige Kennett has thanked Mr Dobson for his significant contribution to the organisation and community. "We sincerely thank Bruce and are incredibly grateful for his commitment and service to the organisation. While we will be disappointed to see him leave, we acknowledge and respect the decision he has made.
"Bruce has provided strong leadership for Knox and worked closely with Councillors, staff and the entire local government sector to deliver important community outcomes.
"We look forward to continuing that close working relationship over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition and the appointment of a new CEO", added Mayor Kennett.
