Wagga Wagga City Council is proud to announce that Kooringal Kicks and Tricks is returning in January 2026 in partnership with Relationships Australia Canberra and Regions, the NSW Government and Wagga Wagga Community Drug Action Team.
The multi-heat skate competition for young people aged 10 to 25 years and festivities will kick off at 1pm on Thursday 29 January at Henwood Park, Kooringal.
Council's Youth and Community Development Officer Mel Fattore said there are loads of prizes to be won.
"Alongside the competition, young people, their friends, family and circle of care will have the opportunity to engage with valuable youth services based in Wagga Wagga through fun and exciting activities like handball competitions, free bike repair workshops and giant lawn games," Mel Fattore said.
For those looking to level up before the epic skate competition, young people are invited to spend the morning practicing their skateboard, scooter, BMX and roller blade skills with the wheel experts and young mentors from Al's Skate Co.

These free workshops will run from 10am to 12pm, at Henwood Park, with take home resources included.
"Council is collaborating with local youth support services to provide meaningful support to young people and families returning to the new school year to combat cost-of-living pressures," Mel Fattore said.
"We're excited to provide one last fun, social and jam-packed giveaway school holiday event which is positive and provides much needed relief to our community."
Community partners Rapid Relief Team Wagga, St Vincent's de Paul Riverina and Karralika, along with NSW Youth Justice will be providing free haircuts on the day, much-needed school resources, free BBQ and general health checks with a registered nurse.
Local young person, Monica, volunteered at the 2025 event as part of Council's Youth of Wagga Crew. She assisted in providing educational resources to young people and families, and also collected meaningful feedback from attendees throughout the event.
"It was such a fun experience! At Kooringal Kicks and Tricks, there's something for everyone and it really gives you the chance to recognise our strong community, while also creating a supportive space for everyone especially young people," Youth of Wagga Crew young person, Monica said.
