Kooyong tram sex assault

Transit Crime Investigation Unit detectives have released an image of a man they would like to speak to after a woman was sexually assaulted on a tram earlier this week, Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told a 42-year-old woman was on the route 16 tram headed towards Kew about 7.55am on Monday 17 October.

As the tram passed Kooyong Railway Station a man boarded and frottaged himself against the woman.

He then got off the tram at Manningtree Road and was last seen headed towards Power Street.

The offender is perceived to be Caucasian, 30-40 years old, approximately 170cm tall and smelt of raw meat.

At the time of the offence he was wearing black baggy pants and a baggy blue jumper with white specks.

Detectives have released a computer generated image of a man they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.

Anyone who has information about the incident or the man’s identity is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
