Labor damning election report - 140 days and counting

It’s now 140 days since Labor announced they would do a review into their third worst election result ever and there is still no sign of the promised report.

It’s remarkable that Labor will hold a state conference 6 months after a crushing election defeat with no idea about what their own review will say about their policies and strategy in the election campaign.

In April this year Labor told media that members would have one month to consider what went wrong – five months later they’re still sitting on the review*.

With the Labor conference set to adopt anti-jobs policies such as new taxes, more regulation and massive increases in public sector spending, they’ve missed the chance to learn something about what people outside their Salamanca circle actually want from a Government.

"Labor Members will have a month to tell the party why they think it lost the state election in March …the ALP’s Tasmania branch recently started a review of its 2018 campaign and will establish a committee to consider members’ views and interview key personnel. Its final report is expected in time for Labor’s state conference in July". (Sunday Tasmanian, 20 April 2018)
