Today in State Parliament, more than 250 annual reports of Victorian Government agencies and associated documents were tabled simultaneously by Labor in a deliberate effort to avoid scrutiny.
These reports include important information on the financial and operational performance of bodies that provide frontline services to the Victorian community.
The release of these reports follows recent confirmation that Victoria's net debt is growing by more than $2 million an hour, whilst Victoria's unemployment rate and tax burden remain the highest of any state in the nation.
Shadow Treasurer, Jess Wilson, said: "Today is further confirmation of the lengths Labor will go to keep their own mismanagement a secret.
"Victorians deserve timely and transparent information on how their money is being spent, not annual document dumps that seek to bury the truth in a mountain of paper.
"Only a Liberals and Nationals Government will clean up Victoria's books by establishing a real-time expenditure tracker and charter of budget honesty."
