Residents in the growing suburb of Clyde North will have a new ambulance station for the extra paramedics already hard at work providing high quality care, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.
Parliamentary Secretary for Health Steve McGhie and Member for Bass Jordan Crugnale today announced that, after an extensive search, land for the Clyde North Ambulance Station has been secured at 69 Matterhorn Drive, Clyde North.
Planning for a state-of-the-art designed and equipped facility has begun and is expected to be completed by the end of 2022. The station builds on the areas new Peak Period Unit already delivered by the Labor Government - providing an additional eight paramedics and operating seven days a week.
In addition to this, the Labor Government has also announced the preferred location for the Cranbourne Community Hospital is 65 Berwick-Cranbourne Road, Cranbourne East.
The new Cranbourne Community Hospital will provide integrated community health services, specialist appointments, paediatric care, mental health services, dental services, diagnostic pathology and imaging, dialysis, after-hours urgent care, day surgery and rehabilitation services.
The services provided at the new site will be an expansion of those currently provided by Monash Health at the Cranbourne Integrated Care Centre and will take pressure off nearby major hospitals - enabling them to focus on critical care and acute health issues, emergency care and more complex surgeries and procedures.
Casey Council will soon commence a public consultation process on the sale of land to the State Government, and community members will be invited to provide their feedback.
The Labor Government invested an extra $136 million for Ambulance Services in the Victorian Budget 2020/21, which will see more ambulances arriving quicker, meaning faster and more efficient treatment for Victorians.
This builds on the $1 billion invested in ambulance services and infrastructure by the Labor Government, which has led to paramedics arriving at critical emergencies faster than ever before.
