A section of Lanyon Drive at the intersection of the Monaro Highway will have an off-peak closure at the end of February to allow for construction on the Monaro Highway upgrade.
From 7pm Friday 27 February, to 5am Monday 2 March (weather permitting):
Lanyon Drive will be closed between the northbound and southbound carriageways of the Monaro Highway.
This weekend closure is required to install barriers on the new flyover structure over Lanyon Drive, and remove temporary scaffolding and walkways over Lanyon Drive.
During the closure, there will be detours through the Hume industrial area along Sheppard Street.
An alternative route for road users travelling from Jerrabomberra to north Canberra is to turn right on to Lanyon Drive at Tompsitt Drive and then use Canberra Avenue.
The Monaro Highway is being upgraded to deliver improved safety, freight efficiency and faster and smoother travel for Tuggeranong, the Woden Valley and southern New South Wales.
