Large cannabis crop located - man arrested

Police have arrested and charged a man after uncovering a significant cannabis crop following a search last month.

On 24 February, officers from the Heavy Vehicle Enforcement Section attended a property at McDonald Park and carried out a search locating 312 cannabis plants being grown hydroponically along with an excavator and a trailer valued at almost $50,000 which was allegedly stolen from a business in Burton in 2018. Further investigation revealed the power supply had been bypassed.

A 40-year-old man from Burton was arrested yesterday and charged with cultivate a large commercial quantity of cannabis and theft.

He was refused bail and is expected to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court tomorrow.
