Campaspe Shire Council are reminding residents to nominate the individuals and community groups whose contributions make our community thrive, with nominations open for the 2026 Citizen of the Year Awards until Sunday, 2 November.
These prestigious awards are among the highest honours Council can bestow, recognising individuals and community groups whose dedication, service, and achievements have made a lasting impact across the Shire.
Award categories include:
- Campaspe Citizen of the Year
- Campaspe Young Citizen of the Year
- Community Group of the Year
Campaspe Shire Mayor Cr Daniel Mackrell is urging residents not to miss the opportunity to celebrate local heroes before nominations close.
"We're in the final days to nominate someone whose efforts deserve to be recognised.
"Whether it's a neighbour, volunteer, young leader or a dedicated community group, these awards are a chance to say thank you and shine a light on those who make our community special.
"Nominations only take a few minutes, but the impact of being acknowledged lasts a lifetime." Cr Mackrell said.
Nominees must reside within Campaspe Shire. Online nominations are encouraged, but hard copy forms are also available at Council's Customer Service Centres. For selection criteria and to submit a nomination, visit the Citizen of the Year Awards page . Submissions close on Sunday, 2 November 2025.
