Latrobe City say 'Thanks for hand'

Volunteers who assist Latrobe City Council in making a difference, through the delivery of important and essential Council services, received a special gift to acknowledge the contribution they make to the community, each and every day.

A private performance of 'Celebrate, it's Christmas 2019' at the Latrobe Performing Arts Centre was the highlight of a morning tea acknowledgement ceremony for 70 volunteers.

Through the commitment and hard work of Latrobe City Council's volunteers, the Council is able to provide a range of services including the delivery of a nutritious meal through the Meals on Wheels program, transporting clients to attend Planned Activity Group, or the chance to have a genuine conversation at a morning tea or on a social outing, volunteers are everywhere.

In thanking the volunteers Latrobe City Council Mayor, Cr Dan Clancey acknowledged the positive impacts volunteers have in strengthening and connecting our communities.

"Volunteers are woven throughout the fabric of our community and benefit all throughout our regional city," Mayor, Cr Dan Clancey said.

"The volunteer workforce provides indispensable support to the organisation and communities. They deserve recognition for the substantial social, economic and cultural contributions they make.

"Without the amazing contributions of our volunteers, we would not be able to supply the vital services that help and assist Latrobe City community members. To all our volunteers – thank you."
