A Launceston man has had his weekend turned upside down after discovering he'd won more than $1.4 million in TattsLotto - all during half-time of the footy on Saturday night.
The Tasmanian held one of the seven division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4595 on Saturday 2 August 2025. Each division one winning entry pocketed $1,428,571.43.
It marks another win for Launceston, which was one of Tasmania's lottery hotspots in FY25.
"I logged into The Lott app on Saturday night to check my ticket, just after half-time in the footy," the winner explained when talking to us.
"I thought, 'That's surprising!'. Nothing like that normally happens.
"I didn't sleep much that night - it was on and off. A lot of stuff was going through my head. You're just that excited."
With $1.4 million heading to his bank account, the winning man is already thinking about how to make the most of it.
"It'll certainly pay off the mortgage. Then you've got to work out the retirement factor. I was planning on working until retirement at 65, but now I can bring that forward," he said.
"We'll sit down with a financial advisor and make a plan. From here on in, it's all about work-life balance and more time to enjoy life!
"Exciting times ahead."
The man's winning 18-game QuickPick entry was purchased via The Lott app - the official home of Australia's lotteries.
