A 17-year-old was caught going it alone on the roads in Glen Waverley yesterday.
State Highway Patrol members observed the vehicle displaying allegedly false number plates on Ferntree Gully Road before it was intercepted on Watsons Road about 1pm.
The driver produced a learner’s permit and returned a positive roadside drug test.
Police then searched the vehicle and located what is alleged to be a quantity of cannabis and MDMA.
The Glen Waverley teenager has been charged with several offences and has been bailed to appear in a children’s court at a later date.
