Members from the Public Order Response Team (PORT) got more than they were expecting when they intercepted a vehicle in Dandenong overnight.
Officers noticed a car driving through Dandenong about 4.10am and intercepted it at the intersection of Stud and Heatherton Roads.
The driver, a 27-year-old woman from Dandenong North, underwent a preliminary breath test and then underwent an evidentiary test.
She returned an alleged reading of 0.242.
Further checks revealed that she only held a learner’s permit and that her instructing driver was disqualified.
Her car was impounded at a cost of $1038 and she is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving and numerous traffic offences.
This intercept was part of Operation Tidal which is an ongoing effort to reduce road deaths and trauma and reduce high impact crime.
