Learning hard way in Heatherton

A learner rider will be without his bike after he was allegedly detected both speeding and drink riding in Heatherton last night.

Officers from Moorabbin Highway Patrol detected the motorcycle travelling at 139km/h in an 80 zone on the Dingley bypass about 11.10pm.

Things went from bad to worse for the 19-year-old learner rider when his breath test returned a reading of 0.085.

His motorcycle was immediately impounded for 30 days at a cost of $950.

The Clayton South teen is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving and speeding offences.
