The Leeton Uniting Church was buzzing with activity as exhibitors and visitors came together to 'learn, live and connect' at the 2026 Leeton Seniors Expo, hosted by Leeton Shire Library on Thursday, March 5th.

Library Supervisor Rachel Cody said the event exceeded expectations.

"We had 32 exhibitors attend, representing a really broad mix of local support services. These included aged care providers, disability and ageing services, the Department of Health, Leeton Community Transport, Crime Prevention Officers, along with several other organisations. The Expo gave attendees the chance to speak directly with people who can support them at this stage of their life," she said.

The Expo, attended by 79 people, also featured a short presentation by Isabel Baker, author of A to Z for Dementia Care, which was warmly received by patrons.

Seniors Festival celebrations continued at the Roxy Community Theatre, with a special performance of David Scheel's comedy Growing Old Ungracefully on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

Eighty patrons enjoyed the unique experience, seated at round tables as they listened to excerpts of classical and contemporary works alongside Scheel's humorous and thought-provoking reflections on ageing in the modern world.

Roxy Theatre Manager Emma Di Muzio said the performance struck a strong chord with the audience.

"It was fantastic to see such a great turnout and to hear so much laughter throughout the performance. Events like this create a welcoming space for our seniors to come together, share an experience and simply enjoy themselves," she said.

The NSW Seniors Festival ran from Monday 2 March to Sunday 15 March 2026, encouraging seniors to embrace new experiences, stay active, and celebrate both lifelong achievements and the adventures to come.
