Leeton Shire Council Unveils 2022/23 Annual Financial Report

Leeton Shire Council is pleased to present the community the 2022/23 Annual Report, following endorsement at the November Ordinary Meeting.

The Annual Report is a key point of accountability between Leeton Shire Council and the Leeton Shire community. It provides the community with an update on Council's progress in implementing the Delivery Program 2022–2025 through the actions and activities set out in the Operational Plan 2022/23.

Leeton Shire Council's General Manager, Jackie Kruger, said while it was a challenging year, including exceptionally wet weather and a lingering COVID-19 virus, Leeton Shire and the wider MIA continued to thrive – testament to the region's resilience. Some highlights from 2022/23 include:

  • The processing of 117 development applications valued at $42.456M,
  • 15 successful grant applications to the value of $4.835M,
  • Leeton Shire Library loaning more than 19,534 items and LMAG presenting ten exciting exhibitions,
  • Rehabilitating 5.85km of sealed road, resealing 8.4km of road, resheeting 5.9km of gravel road and filling of 11,809 potholes,
  • Planting of 221 new street trees and much more."

Mayor Cr Tony Reneker expressed his gratitude to the dedicated Council staff, his fellow councillors, community partners, and volunteers who individually, and through collective efforts, have contributed to Leeton Shire Council's positive results.

"Thank you also to residents who have engaged in constructive and meaningful dialogue – your input through the year has been appreciated. We welcome your feedback as we strive for continuous improvement," he added.
