UGL Regional Linx will carry out scheduled maintenance on the Archer Road level crossing at Mullion Creek, upgrading it from a passive crossing to an active one with boom gates and flashing lights to improve safety.

The work will run from 17 April to 1 May 2026, delivered in stages, including track reconditioning and resurfacing. During this period, Archer Road will be closed, and motorists will need to follow a 22‑kilometre detour via surrounding local roads, adding around 29 minutes to travel times. Detour will bevia Archer Road, Burrendong Way, Long Point Road, Bosches Creek Forest Road, Black Mountain Road, Tower Road and Rocky Falls Road

Work will take place on weekdays between 7am and 5pm, with a continuous shift from 21-26 April, including ANZAC Day. No work will occur on 27 April, due to the additional public holiday.

Residents can expect extra vehicle movements in the area. UGLRL says it will take steps to reduce noise and minimise impacts on the community.
