Liane Moriarty Adds Shellharbour to National Tour

Shellharbour is set to welcome one of Australia's most celebrated authors this September, with internationally bestselling novelist Liane Moriarty visiting Shellharbour City Library as part of a highly anticipated national tour.

Selected as one of just seven destinations across the country, Shellharbour joins Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart, Adelaide, the Gold Coast and Brisbane in hosting the acclaimed author, marking a major win for the city's cultural and literary scene.

The special event, An Evening in Conversation with Liane Moriarty, will take place at Shellharbour City Library on Tuesday 1 September 2026, offering audiences a rare opportunity to hear from the author of global bestselling novels including Big Little Lies.

Liane Moriarty will appear in conversation with media personality and bestselling author Holly Wainwright, sharing insights into her writing journey, creative process and her newest novel, Big Little Truths - the much-anticipated sequel to Big Little Lies.

Shellharbour City Mayor Chris Homer said securing Liane Moriarty as part of the national tour is a proud moment for the community.

"Having an author of Liane Moriarty's calibre visit Shellharbour is an incredible opportunity for our community," Mayor Homer said.

"To be included among just seven locations nationwide is a testament to the strength of our libraries, our growing cultural scene and our engaged, creative community."

Mayor Homer said the event highlights Council's ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality arts and cultural experiences locally.

"Our libraries are vibrant community hubs, and events like this connect people with world-class talent right here in Shellharbour," he said.

Liane Moriarty is the author of ten internationally bestselling novels and has sold more than 20 million copies worldwide.

Her breakout novel Big Little Lies became the first by an Australian author to debut at number one on the New York Times bestseller list and was later adapted into a critically acclaimed television series.

The September event is expected to be in high demand, offering an intimate and engaging evening complete with conversation, storytelling and behind-the-scenes insights into one of Australia's most successful writing careers.
