The Victorian Liberals and Nationals unequivocally condemn the attack on an Imam and his wife that took place over the weekend.
This reprehensible act of hatred, Islamophobia and violence has no place in Victoria. Those responsible stand in direct opposition to our state's values and do not represent the Victorian community. Such cowardly conduct will never be tolerated.
Shadow Minister for Multicultural and Multifaith Affairs, Evan Mulholland, said: "All Victorians have the right to go about their day without the fear of an attack of this nature.
"The Liberals and Nationals unequivocally condemn all forms of religious and faith-based violence and will continue to speak out whenever individuals or communities are targeted because of who they are or what they believe."
