Liberals continue to fight amongst themselves

Tasmanian Labor
  • Razor gang chief vs failed former Health Minister
  • Attorney General vs Speaker
  • As Liberal MPs jockey for support, it’s no surprise that the long running feud between Clark MPs Sue Hickey and Elise Archer is smack bang in the middle of it all.

Labor Member for Braddon Shane Broad said Tasmanians deserved better than square ups for old vendettas directing the future of the state.

“The Liberal Party-room meeting is going to be ugly,” Dr Broad said.

“We know that Sue Hickey and Elise Archer have been poisoning each other politically for years.

“Their cold war was heating up after the Attorney General blacklisted the rogue Speaker from campaign materials late last year.

“Sue Hickey has been highly critical of both Michael Ferguson and Elise Archer, and is strongly rumoured to be backing Gutwein and Rockliff in an attempt to dull Ms Archer’s ambitions.

“It looks like the next Premier will be decided by a couple of votes, which means this broken relationship could define the future of our state.

“This is personality politics at its worst.

“It’s time the Liberals put the Tasmanian people before the politics and petty feuds.”

    Shane Broad

    Labor Member for Braddon
