Licensed club armed robbery at Mittagong

Police are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a licensed club in the Southern Highlands today.

About 1pm (Saturday 22 August 2020), an unknown man – armed with a firearm – entered the club on Bessmer Street, Mittagong, and threatened staff and patrons.

Police have been told the man demanded money from a 61-year-old employee, before leaving with cash.

Officers from The Hume Police District attended and established a crime scene.

Several patrons and staff were in the club at the time; however, no one was physically injured during the incident.

As inquiries continue, detectives would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.
