This initiative is part of our business support and recovery program. Council received the COVID Safe Outdoor Activation Fund worth $300,000 from the Victorian Government, to expand our existing business recovery initiatives, including streetscape beautification and outdoor dining.
The fund has also allowed us to purchase resources to help businesses enhance their retail presence in our community.
Scott Watson, business owner of Just a Little Bit Gelateria in Knoxfield Shopping Village, is one of the 122 businesses that have received free fairy lights and a graffiti kit.
"Council is improving the area," said Scott.
"That's going to promote the area and bring people here."
