An electrical storm wreaked havoc at Brou waste management facility on Saturday 7 March, with a lightning strike taking the weighbridge offline.
Eurobodalla Council's waste services manager Nathan Ladmore said a staff member at the site felt the impact when the strike hit at about 4pm.
"He felt a bit of a zing and thankfully he's fine," Mr Ladmore said.
"The weighbridge on the other hand copped a frazzling and we're working on getting it fixed as quick as we can."
In the meantime, all loads requiring a weigh in are being diverted to the Surf Beach waste facility.
"We know it's a fair drive, so if you can, hang onto your waste until the weighbridge is repaired," Mr Ladmore said.
"We appreciate everyone's patience and will let you know once things are sorted."
Mr Ladmore said some smaller or standard loads are still being accepted at Brou.
"We had to go a bit old school and write out manual dockets while the system was down, but we're now able to process some transactions again," he said.
