Campaspe Library Service is preparing for an exciting week of events at the end of July, with live music performances during the Echuca Moama Winter Blues Festival followed by celebrations for Library and Information Week 2026.
The Echuca Library will once again welcome festival-goers during the Echuca Moama Winter Blues Festival, hosting a series of live performances from Cass Eager, Kathleen Halloran, Geoff Atchison and Nick Charles on Saturday and Sunday, 25-26 July, that showcase the library as a community and cultural hub.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Cr Daniel Mackrell said the performances would highlight the evolving role libraries play in bringing people together.
"Today's libraries are more than places to borrow books - they are welcoming community spaces where people can connect, learn, create and experience something new," Cr Mackrell said.
"Hosting live music as part of the Winter Blues Festival is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate local and visiting talent while inviting more people to discover everything our libraries have to offer."
Following the festival, libraries across Campaspe will celebrate Library and Information Week 2026 from Monday 27 July to Sunday 2 August.
Library and Information Week is an annual celebration of the important role libraries play in supporting literacy, lifelong learning, digital inclusion and community connection.
Cr Mackrell said the week provided an opportunity to recognise the value libraries bring to people of all ages.
"Our libraries provide access to knowledge, technology, programs and resources that help strengthen our communities," he said.
"Whether it's supporting early literacy, helping people develop digital skills, providing access to information, or creating opportunities for social connection, libraries continue to make a meaningful difference in people's lives."
This year's Library and Information Week theme, "Truth Be Told", celebrates the vital role libraries play in helping communities build information and digital literacy skills, navigate misinformation, and understand today's complex digital landscape.
Throughout the week, Campaspe Libraries will host a range of activities and programs for community members to enjoy, alongside their regular calendar of events. Highlights include:
