Liverpool Woman's $1M Windfall from Accidental Ticket

The Lott

A Liverpool woman has been completely bowled over after going from watching the cricket in bed to discovering she was a millionaire thanks to a Weekday Windfall ticket that scored her a staggering $1 million prize.

The Sydney resident held one of the two division one winning entries nationally in Weekday Windfall draw 4647 drawn Monday 5 January 2026. Each division one winning entry bagged $1 million.

Remarkably, the woman revealed she had accidentally bought the "wrong" type of ticket but decided to keep it, thinking it might just be "lucky".

"It was quite a surprise!" she said while speaking to us.

"I was lying in bed watching the cricket when I remembered I saw there were two winners in Weekday Windfall, so I thought I'd better check my ticket.

"I checked off the numbers, and I was going 'one more, one more, one more'. I realised I had them all - and even the supplementary numbers too! I just went 'Oh my god!'.

"It's just unbelievable, really. I've been playing lotteries for 40 years!

"When I bought the ticket, I only wanted to get a ticket for Monday night's draw, but I accidentally got the 3 Play ticket, which runs all week. The clerk asked if I wanted to cancel the ticket, but I said 'No, I'll keep it, it might be lucky!'. It sure was!

"It's amazing because we can use it for retirement. It's great timing."

Her winning 3-game marked System 8 entry was purchased at Freechoice Tobacconist, Shop 8, Chipping Norton Market Plaza, 20 Earnest Avenue, Chipping Norton, 2170.
