The Australian Defence College's Lives in Leadership podcast is back for its second season, with thoughtful conversations on military leadership, ethics, culture and service within the profession of arms.
Produced through the Military and Professional Mastery Branch, the podcast connects leadership theory with real-world experience, offering listeners practical insights from military and civilian leaders who have navigated complex challenges across Defence and other professional fields.
The new season features a diverse range of guests, including former and inaugural Senior Enlisted Adviser to the Chief of the Defence Force Warrant Officer Ken Robertson, Chief of the New Zealand Army Major General Rose King, and a number of Australian Defence Force leaders and academics.
Through candid discussions, guests share lessons on leadership styles, decision-making, professional development and service.
Director-General Military and Professional Mastery Branch Brigadier Craig Shortt said the series provided valuable insights into joint and integrated roles across Defence and complemented existing single-service professional military education and development programs.
"Each episode discusses leadership challenges from different perspectives while highlighting practical lessons that can be applied throughout a professional career," Brigadier Shortt said.
"This podcast explores themes that sit at the heart of professional military education at the Australian Defence College.
"It reflects Defence's ongoing commitment to developing adaptive, ethical and reflective leaders who are prepared to meet the challenges of a complex strategic environment."
New episodes will be released every three weeks and are available via the Forge website, Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
The first season's episodes also remain available, providing listeners with an opportunity to revisit previous conversations and leadership insights.
