Local Artists Celebrate Spring In Community Exhibition Primavera

Griffith Regional Art Gallery is celebrating the amazing work of local artists who have contributed to the community exhibition Primavera, opening this week at ARTSPACE in the Griffith Regional Theatre.

Artists from Griffith and surrounding areas have embraced the lively theme, creating colourful works that capture the essence of the season.

The exhibition invited entries of 2D works including painting, drawing, photography, printmaking and textile wall hangings. Coinciding with Griffith's annual Spring Fest, Primavera gives local artists the chance to contribute to the city's festive landscape by celebrating the flora and fauna of Spring.

Gallery Coordinator, Melanie Toscan said she was delighted with the range and quality of work received.

"Nature is a popular theme artists explore within their work, often through still life or landscapes. That may have contributed to the quality of work displayed in this exhibition, but as a whole, the talent of our local community should be congratulated for this wonderful array of work," she said.

The exhibition is now open at the Griffith Regional Theatre, and artists, their families, friends and members of the public are invited to attend the official opening event on Thursday 16 October 2025 at 5.30pm at the Griffith Regional Theatre ARTSPACE. Primavera will remain on display until 22 December 2025.
