Local artists celebrated in new Living Arts Space Exhibition

Bendigo artists producing a diverse selection of prints have come together for Imprint, a new Living Arts Space exhibition.

Visitor Services Manager Jemma Docherty said Imprint aimed to help support local artists as they continue to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The exhibition will help local artists to reconnect with the community and visitors to Bendigo," Ms Docherty said.

"The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant financial impact on local artists and their livelihoods with many experiencing cancelled and postponed exhibitions.

"Imprint is an opportunity to celebrate the diverse range of artists and acknowledge the important contribution that our local creative artists make to our region's arts culture.

"The exhibition features 13 artists and over 50 prints with various creative applications so there's something for everyone.

"The official opening for Imprint will take place to coincide with a very special festive shopping night at Bendigo Visitor Centre on Thursday December 9 between 4pm and 8pm.

"The overall theme for the shopping night is part of the City of Greater Bendigo's Love Your Local Christmas campaign to support producers, artists and makers when buying gifts this Christmas.

"You'll have the opportunity to meet some of the artists at the Imprint exhibition and if you wish to support our local creatives and buy a unique artwork print, you can browse from over 50-plus limited edition prints available for sale.

"At the festive shopping night, those visiting the Imprint exhibition can also meet the makers of Uniquely Bendigo's curated range of locally made products, including for the first-time products from Aboriginal businesses - all perfect Christmas gift ideas.

"This is a great way to support our local creatives, produces and makers and buy unique gifts for family members and friends at one event so come along and enjoy a stress-free Christmas shopping night."

In line with Victorian Government requirements, attendees aged 12 years and over will need to be fully vaccinated and show proof of vaccination status, or medical exemption.

The Imprint exhibition is open until Sunday January 30, 2022. To view the online catalogue, visit: https://www.uniquelybendigo.com.au/collections/imprint-exhibition-catalogue?page=1
