Hundreds of Gold Coast businesses are seizing the opportunity to play an important role in the delivery of the 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games.
City of Gold Coast's Meet the Buyer Breakfast was held today at the Gold Coast Turf Club, with Games Buyers sharing procurement opportunities available in the lead up to and during 2032.
"Today's event presents a unique opportunity for Gold Coast businesses to supply and service one of the world's largest and most iconic sporting events that will contribute billions of dollars to the Queensland economy," Mayor Tom Tate said.
"There are numerous opportunities for local businesses, big and small, to secure their share and I am determined that Gold Coast businesses will be front runners when competing for that opportunity.
"Whether you run a small local enterprise or a large-scale corporation you can get a piece of the action.
"Any Gold Coast businesses who missed out on today's event can still get involved by visiting the City of Gold Coast website and registering your interest."
Opportunities for local businesses range from partial scope tenders and consortium partnerships in industries including, but not limited to, infrastructure, construction, hospitality, technology, security, event management, signage, accommodation and cleaning services.
The event aims to equip all local businesses with the knowledge and contacts needed to be part of the Games supply chain.
While supply opportunities are already available, they will continue to grow towards 2032 and provide ongoing opportunities beyond the Games.
The Meet the Buyers Breakfast was proudly presented by the City of Gold Coast in partnership with the Queensland Government, Invest Gold Coast and Brisbane 2032 Organising Committee.
