Local Buy Fest: Gelato, Fashion & Giveaways

Sunshine Coast Council

The countdown is on until the Sunshine Coast's most celebrated day for its businesses on Saturday, June 28.

From the coast to hinterland, businesses across the Sunshine Coast are rolling out exciting activities, incentives, special offers and events to thank loyal customers and welcome new ones.

In Mooloolaba, the Esplanade will be a buzz of activity as businesses welcome the community into stores on the big day. Fun visual displays, customer incentives and business collaborations are expected to bring Buy Local Day to life.

Yoghurt & Gelato World has teamed up with fellow local business, CocoCoast, for a one-day collaboration. Ice cream lovers can look forward to experiencing a Buy Local Day 'spider', consisting of ice cream and sparkling coconut water from the local businesses.

Great music and street food in Nambour

The hinterland also will be a hive of activity with Nambour featuring footpath trading, live music, street food and giveaways across Saturday and Sunday, June 28 and 29.

Nambour LDL boutique owner Suzanne King said her pre-loved upcycling store would have a shop and style event over the two days.

"It's LDL's official opening and we will be celebrating with prizes, giveaways and lots of specials," Mrs King said.

"Queen street will have a vibrant, festival-like atmosphere for families and visitors to enjoy so come on down and join the fun."

Celebration of people and businesses

Sunshine Coast Council Resilient Economy Portfolio Councillor Joe Natoli invited everyone to take part in the special day.

"Buy Local Day is a celebration of the people and businesses that make our region unique," Cr Natoli said.

"Every purchase made locally helps support jobs, families and the future of our community.

"We encourage everyone to give shout outs on socials to your favourite local businesses, and get out, explore, and enjoy what our local businesses across the region have to offer."
