Local Groups and Schools Eligible for Grants Promoting Sustainable Living

Wingecarribee Shire

What could your community group or school do with up to $2,000 toward your vision for our Shire's future sustainability and natural environment? Now is the time to apply for grant funding under Wingecarribee Shire Council's 2023/24 Community Assistance Scheme.

In total, we'll invest up to $10,000 to support local not-for-profit organisations and schools to build capacity and achieve better environment and sustainability practices within their communities. "We encourage anyone with innovative ideas to put in an application for funding, which can be used toward programs, equipment or capital works which aim to establish or enhance environment and sustainability practices, for the benefit of community groups, schools and early learning centres." Says Morwenna Zabaks, WSC Sustainability Officer.

Applicants can access the 2023/2024 guidelines and submit their applications online.

Visit:

https://wingecarribee.smartygrants.com.au/CAS-Environment-Sustainability_2023-24. Applications close on Monday 15 May 2023 at 4pm.

All applications must be submitted online. Please be aware that late or incomplete applications cannot be considered. We'll announce all successful applicants, and the public will be able to view the details online from 1 July 2023. This year's guidelines specify that all funds must be spent by 30 June 2024.

"We're looking forward to seeing great ideas come forward from our communities, and partnering with them to make good things happen for our Shire, through this Community Assistance Scheme." Morwenna said.

The opening of this year's Wingecarribee Community Assistance Scheme follows Council's adoption of a Grants, Donations and Sponsorships Policy on 16 November 2022. This policy provides a framework on how Council proposes to manage future grants, donations and sponsorships for the benefit of communities across our Shire.
