The Australian Communications and Media Authority is aware that Telstra Corporation Limited has temporarily halted processing Local Number Porting where it is the gaining or losing telco.
Local Number Porting is a regulatory obligation that allows consumers to keep their number and maintain continuity of service when moving networks or premises.
The ACMA is looking into the matter as a matter of priority. This includes seeking further detailed information from Telstra on its decision.
Consumers or resellers of local numbers who may be experiencing issues should contact their provider, or Telstra (on 13 22 00).
