At the 10 December 2025 Statutory Planning Committee, the Western Australian Planning Commission considered the City's scheme report of review and advises that they:
- Agree with the City of Fremantle 2025 Report of Review recommendation to prepare a new local planning scheme that will replace City of Fremantle Local Planning Scheme No. 4 upon endorsement.
- Notes that the City of Fremantle draft Local Planning Strategy is currently under review with the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage before seeking final endorsement from the Western Australian Planning Commission.
