Local residents face of new live and work campaign

You might notice a few familiar faces on your screens in coming months, as local residents share what they love most about living in Swan Hill.

Local advocates have shared their stories about working, living and relaxing in the region as part of a new Council and State Government campaign - Dream Swan Hill.

The campaign is designed to show potential residents that they can find their dream home, dream job and dream lifestyle right here in Swan Hill.

Mayor Ann Young said more and more city people were looking for a more convenient and fulfilling lifestyle in regional areas, and Swan Hill needs to be known as an attractive place to live.

"We want Swan Hill to be noticed and to excite those who might be thinking about relocating for work and lifestyle opportunities," Cr Young said.

"As a Council, we are constantly working to improve the facilities and services in our region, for example the recent upgrades at Riverside Park.

"At the same time, demand for medical specialists, nurses, trades and young professionals is growing.

"This campaign showcases our region to those people, and it has been wonderful to see local people come on board with the campaign and show how proud they are to live here in Swan Hill."

Big4 Riverside Swan Hill owner Ainsley O'Bryan was one of the local campaign participants. She moved from Ballarat eight years ago.

"Living and working here in Swan Hill offers us a chance to have a really well-balanced lifestyle," Ms O'Bryan said.

"If you don't see us on the river, generally we're out riding bikes, scooting around with the kids."

The Dream Swan Hill campaign will be promoted through print media, television and digital platforms such as the Google Display Network, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
