Water police are appealing for public assistance to speak with the owner of a kayak which was located today at South Brisbane, Queensland Police say.
A person was seen paddling on the kayak at 1.45pm on the Brisbane River between Mowbray Park and the Story Bridge.
A short time later the kayak was seen drifting unattended and water police subsequently located the kayak wedged beneath a pontoon near Mowbray Park.
A double ended aluminium paddle with blue blades was located on the pontoon (pictured).
Any person who may have seen the kayak or has further information is urged to contact police.
