An EMERGENCY ALERT has been issued at 12.47pm Friday, 20 March by Lockhart River Aboriginal Shire Council.

This is a WATCH & ACT message from Lockhart River Aboriginal Shire Council.

Residents in the LOCKHART RIVER AREA should be aware of dangers following Tropical Cyclone Narelle.

AVOID FALLEN POWERLINES which can be hard to see and may be hidden under debris. Stay well clear (at least 8 metres) and supervise children. Treat all fallen powerlines as live. Avoid damaged buildings and debris.

For assistance with non-life-threatening situations - such as help with a damaged roof or storm damage - phone SES on 132 500.
