Lott Donates $50K to DV Safe Phone

The Lott

Since 2020, DV Safe Phone has supported more than 14,800 domestic violence victims with a secure phone, providing them with the ability to act, plan, and reach out without fear of being tracked or controlled.

Last year, The Lott donated $50,000 to help them in furthering their mission for every call for help to be answered, and this year we are proud to continue this partnership with a further $50,000.

For every device collected or donated, DV Safe Phone has a specialised team working to test, repair, and distribute these to more than 500 partners, including agencies, shelters, hospitals, and police stations.

On average, a refurbished safe phone costs $75. However, the impact on Australian lives is priceless.

DV Safe Phone Founder and CEO Ashton Wood said equipping victims with safe, untraceable phones gives an instant, secure lifeline when they need it most.

"For a domestic violence victim, no phone means no way to call for help, check in with family, organise safe accommodation, or receive vital updates from police or support services. It's complete isolation at a time when they need connection the most," he said.

"Donations from The Lott enable us to do more good for Australians doing it tough; funding not just the phones, but the vital work that transforms them into tools of safety and freedom."

The Lott Partnerships Manager Liz McPherson was pleased to continue the support of DV Safe Phone for the second year.

"We're immensely proud to continue our partnership with DV Safe Phone and the incredible work they are doing nationwide to empower and give hope to victims"
