Lott Pledges $100K to Boost Communities

The Lott

This World Kindness Day, we're thrilled to celebrate our five-year partnership with Kindness Factory by committing another $100,000 - a milestone that reflects our unwavering dedication to spreading kindness.

Founder of Kindness Factory, Kath Koschel, made it her mission to make the world a kinder place.

During the past decade, she has travelled the world to share her own story and deliver her powerful message of kindness, compassion and empathy. Since the launch of Kindness Factory in 2015, over 8 million acts of kindness have been logged via their website.

In more recent times, Kath has sought to continue the legacy of kindness to school students, prompting her to partner with Kaplan, the leading global provider of education programs, to launch the Kindness Curriculum.

The Kindness Curriculum focuses on the development of the 12 core attributes that underpin kindness: collaboration, compassion, empathy, gratitude, honesty, humility, humour, mindfulness meditation, perspective, positivity, self- acceptance and trust.

This research-backed, values-based educational program is designed to foster emotional well-being, resilience, and empathy in young Australians.

The Lott by NSW Lotteries latest funding will enable the full digitisation a new tool, as part of the Kindness Curriculum.

This digital transformation means that no matter where a school is located, whether metropolitan, regional or remote, students and educators will have access to tools that help build stronger, more compassionate communities.

With this year's donation, the program will be enhanced to provide tailored learning pathways for each student, giving teachers a clear framework to nurture kindness in the classroom and beyond.

"Put simply, we couldn't do what we do at Kindness Factory without the support of The Lott," Kath said.

"This donation will allow us to reach every primary school in the country, giving every child the opportunity to grow up with kindness at the core of their education.

"Given the rise of mental health issues across all age groups in Australia, the need for kindness, compassion and empathy in our community is more vital than ever before."

You can support the Kindness Factory by purchasing a Play for Purpose ticket. Not only will at least half of your ticket price go directly to the charity, but you'll also be in with a chance to win a First Prize Pack, plus hundreds of other great prizes.
