Love Is In Air At Our Libraries

Library love

Camden, Narellan and Oran Park Libraries are ready to sweep residents off their feet with a month-long celebration of Library Lovers Month in February.

Library Lovers Month is celebrated across Australia and around the world, inspired by Australian Library and Information Association's (ALIA) Library Lovers' Day campaign. It's the perfect time to shine a spotlight on the unique services, programs and stories that make libraries so easy to love, and to honour the lifelong learning and community spirit they inspire.

Council is hosting a line-up of events designed to spark joy, ignite curiosity and remind everyone why libraries are the true heartthrobs of our neighbourhoods.

The program includes:

• Library Lovers Reading Challenge, where residents are invited to rekindle their relationship with reading. Adults can join the challenge for a chance to win Camden Libraries tote bags and a grand prize of a $100 Harry Hartog voucher;

• Book Lovers Happy Hour, where residents can bring their own book and enjoy literary mocktails at the library; and

• Library Love Appreciation Wall, where residents can add their love message and see what others adore too.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, encouraged residents to fall head over heels for reading again.

"February is our love letter to our libraries and the books, stories and spaces that our community adores," she said.

"We have so much going on, so whether you're a long-time lover or ready to start a new chapter, there's something for everyone at our three libraries. I encourage everyone to find their perfect match next month."

Residents can attend one of three libraries across Camden, including:

• Camden Library, 40 John Street, Camden;

• Narellan Library, 20-22 Queen Street, Narellan; and

• Oran Park Library, 72 Central Avenue, Oran Park.
