Shellharbour Mayor Chris Homer said Valentine's Day is about connection in all its forms.
"Whether you are celebrating with a partner, friends or family, moments of connection are important, and this week offers plenty of opportunities to create them locally," Mayor Homer said.
"We encourage residents to support local experiences, spend time together and make the most of local activities this Valentine's Day."
FALL IN LOVE WITH YOUR LIBRARY
Saturday 14 February is Library Lovers' Day, celebrated worldwide to honour libraries, librarians and book lovers.
The community is invited to City Library on Friday 13 February from 10.30am-11.30am to celebrate our cherished Shellharbour City Libraries. Visitors can enjoy a delicious Library Lovers' Day cake in the foyer, collect a blind date with a book and pick up a range of bookish goodies.
A GIFT THAT KEEPS GROWING
Roses may be red, but leafy green plants are waiting at the Shellharbour City Council Nursery.
This Valentine's Day, swap traditional flowers for a thoughtful indoor plant that lasts well beyond 14 February.
The Nursery is located at River Oak Place, Oak Flats and is open weekdays from 7.30am 3.45pm. It is the perfect stop for a meaningful gift with no wrapping required.
PLAY YOUR HEART OUT AT THE LINKS
Couples looking for a fun way to celebrate Valentine's Day can enjoy a special 2-for-1 deal at the Shanx Mini Golf Course at The Links Shell Cove.
Bookings are available until 8.15pm, leaving plenty of time to enjoy a meal at The Tavern at The Links and turn a Valentine's outing into a full night out.
