Lowest Unemployment In Nation, Again

Tasmania has once again recorded the lowest unemployment rate in the country, according to the latest data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

Sitting at 4 per cent, this latest data backs in other positive key economic indicators for Tasmania.

Treasurer Eric Abetz says a strong economy means more jobs, more prosperity and more opportunity for all Tasmanians.

"This latest unemployment data shows our economy continues to go from strength to strength," the Treasurer said.

"Business confidence is leading the nation - made clear in the latest NAB Monthly Business Survey earlier this week.

"We are second in business conditions as announced by the Business Council of Australia on Tuesday.

"Our economy is strong and worth a record $40.6 billion and growing and more than 51,000 new jobs have been created since we came to Government.

"This Liberal Government is delivering for Tasmanians.

"We are ensuring that our economy remains strong, Tasmanians are employed and we are working together to move our state forward."
