Lt Malop Street vehicle restrictions

The following comments can be attributed to City of Greater Geelong Director Economy, Investment and Attraction Brett Luxford:

How many objections did the council receive about the restriction of vehicles on Lt Malop St during peak pedestrian times? How many submissions of support did the council receive?

We received a total of 39 submissions providing input on the proposed changes and potential issues to be considered.

The engagement process was not seeking support or objections.

What is the next step for the proposal now? If the proposal goes ahead when will it begin?

Our engagement with the community has given us an opportunity to better understand how changes to

vehicle access could impact those who use, live or trade in the Little Malop Street laneways precinct.

We have received valuable feedback from a range of people who have diverse needs, and we will carefully

consider all of these different viewpoints. We will now analyse the results and present a report to Council in

June 2019.

The report will provide a recommendation to Council based on feedback from the community.
