M5 truck fire - Beverley Hills, NSW

A truck has caught fire on the M5 this morning with both directions closed to traffic between King Georges Road and Kingsgrove Road at Beverley Hills, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to the scene about 5.40am (Sunday 28 January 2018) following reports the fuel tanker had caught alight.

The road was closed in both directions while Fire & Rescue NSW brought the fire under control. Those road closures remain in place and motorists should avoid the area.

The driver of the truck was uninjured and is now speaking with police.

Campsie Local Area Command is investigating the incident.
