Major Crime detectives return to Mannahill, SA

Major Crime detectives have returned to Mannahill in the State's north east pastoral region this week as part of ongoing investigations into the disappearance and presumed murder of Tanja Ebert, according to SA Police.

There are no updates at this time.

Due to the risks posed by the ruggedness and remoteness of the terrain, a South Australian Ambulance Service Special Operations Team is on standby.

The last independent sighting of Ms Ebert, 23, occurred about 3.20pm on Tuesday 8 August when she visited the South Australian Museum with her family.

Ms Ebert's husband, Michael Burdon, 41, then fatally shot himself at the couple's property on Wednesday 16 August, while police were present at the station making inquiries into his wife's disappearance.

A wide scale search, including significant excavation works, of the 410 square kilometre property at Mannahill was conducted on Friday 18 August, with the assistance of STAR Group search coordinators, PolAir, SES volunteers and Mounted Police, but failed to find any trace of the young mother.
