Detectives from Hobart CIB have today charged a 31 year old male from Berriedale with 6 counts of trespass and stealing as well a number of traffic offences relating to the theft of firewood from private residences in the greater Hobart area, Tasmania Police say.
The male has been bailed to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court on 13 June 2017
It is anticipated there have been a significant number of thefts, of firewood, during the past few weeks, many of which may not have been reported.
Police would like to speak to anyone who has had wood stolen or who may have seen a white Toyota Landcruiser flat tray with a black mesh cage acting suspiciously recently.
