A man and his dog who became stuck in a cave close to Limestone Track, Marsden, Grey District, this afternoon have been extracted by CaveSAR.
The 49-year-old and dog are safe and well.
"It's crucial to be prepared when going into bush, the West Coast has numerous caves and mineshafts," says Sergeant Mark Kirkwood, OC Search & Rescue West Coast.
